Art School So Far

In April I began part-time classes at Classical drawing school in Copenhagen. We are mainly drawing from life/live models, something I’ve never tried and the idea of it always scared me.

We are working with old, classical drawing techniques, like artists from the renaissance period. The process is entirely different than what I’ve done when painting, but I know it will make my paintings better at some point. It’s gunna be amazing when this method ‘clicks’ for me.

As of now, the practice phase is a killer! I hate spending hours on something only to end up with something that doesn’t work out. Yes, I know it’s part of the learning process, but it goes totally against my grain. Let’s talk in 3 months when I am counting on being able to say “it was totally worth it!” :p

Here’s a little portrait-style video by Jakob Boie, of me practicing 🙂

  1. Well practice does make perfect so hang in there and I’m quite sure you’ll have gained a lot in the end. Nice little clip, well done.
